How Does the Financing work?

Will Calibers facilitate in the buying or selling of firearms between private parties?

Yes, Calibers will facilitate the sell or purchase of a firearm between private parties. Upon agreement between the buyer and seller, a $35 fee will be issued. At which time, the buyer will be required to perform a background check. (See requirements for a background check below). Upon the results of the background check, the following actions will be taken:

  • If the buyer receives a PROCEED from the ATF background check, Calibers will take possession of the firearm from the seller and then transfer the firearm to the buyer with the appropriate paperwork.
  • If the buyer receives a DELAY from the ATF background check, the seller will remain in possession of the firearm until a resolution is provided within 7 days. At which point Calibers will call both parties to notify them of the ATF's decision.
  • If the buyer receives a DENIED from the ATF background check, Calibers will immediately notify both parties of the denial from the ATF.

How much does Calibers charge for facilitating a private party transaction?

The fees for a private party transaction are as follows:

Yes. Calibers will facilitate a transfer to an out of state dealer for you. Calibers can facilitate an outbound transfer any time during business hours. Please do not pack and seal your firearm.
